Position Summary:

The Equipment Operator, under the supervision of the GCM Superintendent, performs work involving the use of large equipment, including tractors, loaders, trenchers, backhoes, trucks and other maintenance equipment.  The operator must have physical strength, stamina and agility to work with heavy equipment.  He/she must have the ability to follow written and/or oral directions.

Responsibilities:

• Required to wear without question all safety equipment provided by the Club during working hours.
• The safe and orderly operation of all equipment or mowers in mowing any golf course areas.
• Ensure that the equipment cooling system is working at all times. 
• Refill of fuel and cleaning equipment daily.
• Reporting equipment problems or failures to Equipment Manager and/or GCM Superintendent immediately.
• Operate equipment as directed by the GCM Superintendents and/or Director of GCM.
• Being in proper uniform; shirts must be tucked in and proper shoes must be worn.
• Doing related tasks as requested by the GCM Superintendents and/or Director of GCM.
• As a "Team Player" of Boca Woods Country Club, the employee must be flexible and is required to perform any job in what ever capacity as requested by the Director of GCM and/or GCM Superintendents that may be necessary for the smooth operation of maintenance on the golf courses.

Requirements:

• Operator must be able to work as a team by helping one another and keeping a positive attitude at all times.
• Trainable, operator will be taught to operate small hand powered equipment.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles and is frequently exposed to extreme cold and extreme heat.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
