The Operations Specialist within the Account Analysis team takes ownership of the client's billing processes to optimize revenue and operational efficiency.  You will serve as Treasury Management billing Subject Matter Expert to our internal stakeholders by providing consultative guidance.  With immediate proximity to our client's billing and pricing data, you will remediate operational deficiencies, revenue leakage, and manual processing.  In addition, you're assigned project roles as needed related to critical department initiatives such as acquisitions, conversions, risk analysis, audit requirements, workflow improvement, etc. You will foster robust governance practices thru the creation and maintenance of desktop procedures that align to the billing and pricing policies at UMB Bank.  You also host pricing exceptions, changes with product interest codes, and Index market-based pricing in the account analysis system and any adjustments, exception pricing or error resolution required.  This is a subset of the overall responsibilities which will include multiple initiatives as assigned by Bank Operations leadership. 

This role is hybrid (Mon through Thu on-site / Fri remote) at the UMB Tech Center located in downtown Kansas City, MO.

How you'll spend your time:

  • Creates and maintains operational oversight and controls to ensure the monthly customer billing is accurate and timely.
  • Process exception or escalated tasks for time critical or high-profile client issues to ensure satisfactory resolution.
  • Communicate timely and effectively with all clients (including high-profile clients) and/or internal and external business partners.
  • Maintain knowledge, understanding, and follow all bank policies and procedures.
  • Investigate exceptions and/or errors to identify cause and corrective action.
  • Assist manager with daily workflow assignment, monitoring productivity, training, maintaining quality metrics and resolving incidents.
  • Participate in quality assurance and disaster recovery testing, or other projects as assigned by manager.
  • Understand and remain current on related industry activity, changes, regulations, announcements.
  • Process daily work associated with your department including but not limited to account or file reconciling, prep work for processing, post adjustment entries, research and resolve or escalate operational or transactional issues.
  • Identify potential process improvements and implement documented solutions along with developing new or updating procedures.
  • Ability to utilize technical aptitude that allows for quick learning of company systems, platforms, and products.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of risk types and ability to mitigate independently or escalate appropriately.
  • Strong customer services skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously, escalating issues or problems as appropriate.
  • Ability to recognize errors, issues, special requests, or inconsistencies in daily operations to solve or escalate to appropriate associate or manager.
  • Demonstrated organization/time management and ability to perform job functions with numerous interruptions.

Bonus Points if you have:

  • Bank operations experience specifically to ACH, ATM, Lockbox, Wires, or Deposit Operations.
  • Understanding of processes end to end and cross-functional work with other operational units.

Compensation Range:

$38, $75,080.00
