Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Child Development Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and a passion for fostering the growth and development of children. This role involves working closely with children of various ages, including infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, to support their developmental milestones and provide a safe, nurturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement age-appropriate educational activities that promote cognitive, social, and emotional development.
  • Provide individualized support to children with disabilities or special needs, ensuring their inclusion in all activities.
  • Monitor and assess children's progress in various developmental areas, documenting observations and communicating with parents or guardians.
  • Maintain a safe and clean classroom or daycare environment that encourages exploration and learning.
  • Manage classroom behavior effectively using positive reinforcement strategies and behavior management techniques.
  • Collaborate with other educators, caregivers, and specialists to create comprehensive care plans for children.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in early childhood education and child development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience working with children in various settings such as daycare, preschool, or as a nanny/babysitter.
  • Knowledge of childhood development principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with first aid procedures; certification is a plus.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create an engaging learning environment.
  • Experience working with students who have disabilities or require special accommodations is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • A nurturing attitude towards caregiving and teaching young children.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $ $11.00 per hour
