SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

The Program Manager will join CTFK's Global Tobacco Control team and will be responsible for ensuring effective implementation and oversight of CTFK's project funded by the Bloomberg Accelerator Fund initiative. This initiative aims to improve health and save lives by reducing tobacco use in low- and middle-income countries without any best practice tobacco control measures in place.

Reporting to the Executive Vice-President (EVP) of Global Tobacco Control, the Program Manager will closely coordinate with CTFK's Regional Country Directors, Technical Departments (Grants, Legal, Communications, and Research), and partner organizations under the Bloomberg Accelerator Fund Initiative to support project deliverables that meet specified timelines, budgets, and project goals in accordance with our donor agreement.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH:

  • Ensure timely implementation of key deliverables for the Accelerator Fund project.
  • In coordination with CTFK HQ and in-country team members and partners, support the development of annual workplans and strategies for the countries under the Accelerator Fund.
  • Work closely with the EVP of Global Tobacco Control and the Finance Department to track the Accelerator Fund budget.
  • Lead internal coordination between Technical Departments (regional Country Directors), to ensure alignment on deliverables and to foster information sharing and collaboration.
  • Coordinate with the Country/Regional Team and Technical Departments to support the development of key materials and talking points for stakeholders at the country level and other critical materials that may be needed such as internal or external presentations on the Accelerator Fund.
  • Collaborate with the Country Directors and the Grants and Contracts team to manage the negotiation process for local partner sub-grants and sub-contracts in a timely manner.
  • Track the progress of local partner sub-grants, sub-contracts, and invoices in the pipeline and work closely with relevant Program, Grants and Contracts Financial Compliance Officer(s) for timely processing and submission.
  • Manage knowledge management systems, including the organization and maintenance of shared drives and related content.
  • Support with the planning and executing of international meetings, workshops, and events, including participants invitations and coordination.
  • Collaborate with the team to compile information needed for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting for the Accelerator Fund.

SKILLS YOU'LL BRING TO THE ROLE:

  • Bachelor's degree in public health or public policy; a law degree or other related degree with a focus on health is highly desirable.
  • 5+ years of professional experience supporting, coordinating, and/or managing health policy and advocacy projects; experience in tobacco control is a plus.
  • Proven ability to develop and work in partnership with multiple national, regional, and global stakeholders at various levels, including but not limited to government officials, NGOs, academia, and media.
  • Demonstrated success in grants-based project management.
  • Experience working in culturally sensitive, equitable, and empowering environments with an array of NGOs, government officials, and partners.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while juggling multiple partners, country projects, and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and present complex issues in a concise, compelling, and easily understandable manner, both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills.
  • Full professional and written proficiency in English; knowledge of French, Portuguese or Arabic is a plus.
