Purpose:

The Sr. Business Systems Analyst is a senior, market-facing role within the Derivatives Solutions organization, serving as the primary business subject matter expert and strategic advisor for the Derivatives ecosystem. The role partners closely with Risk and Solutions teams to define, shape, and articulate business demand, and works in close coordination with Product Owners and IT partners to deliver platform enhancements aligned with enterprise and strategic objectives.

Accountabilities:

Platform SME

• Serve as the senior business SME for the Derivatives ecosystem.
• Research and monitor market trends and best practices to ensure the ecosystem remains relevant and fit for purpose.
• Understand how the derivatives desk uses the platform to support trading and solutions activities.
• Maintain deep understanding of data structures and end-to-end workflows across internal systems, the data mart, and vendor platforms.

Requirements Gathering

• Establish and maintain documentation covering business logic, workflows, and user processes.
• Research, identify, frame, and document new and evolving requirements.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Risk Platform, and IT teams to translate business needs into actionable requirements.

Solution Design and Implementation

• Work with Product Owners, and IT to design and deliver platform enhancements.
• Support implementation planning for the Derivatives ecosystem related initiatives.
• Engage with related projects impacting the Derivatives eco system and coordinate with Project Managers as needed.

Testing and Approval

• Define business acceptance criteria in collaboration with Product Owners and IT.
• Lead UAT from a front-office perspective.
• Provide formal business approval for platform and data mart changes.

Partner with other stakeholders

• Represent the Derivatives eco-system across the organization.
• Partner with Compliance, Audit, and control functions on platform-related matters.
• Communicate clearly with senior management on priorities, risks, and outcomes.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or other relevant STEM disciplines
• 5+ years of experience in IT, Derivatives or related area
• Master's degree in a Finance or IT related field preferred

Ideal Experience

• Strong understanding of derivatives markets, instruments, and the end-to-end trade lifecycle.
• Experience supporting or partnering closely with trading, solutions, or risk desks in a market-facing environment.
• Hands-on experience with derivatives eco-systems, including trade decisioning, OMS, execution, and risk management systems.
• Strong data fluency, including the ability to work with large data sets and understand data models and workflows.
• Working knowledge of SQL, Python, and analytical tools; able to engage credibly with technology teams.
• Ability to operate calmly and decisively in a fast-paced trading environment.
• Clear, confident communication skills with the ability to translate complex needs into action plans.
