  • Provide and maintain effective customer service and satisfaction.
  • Delegate work assignments among team members and assist them with resolving customer shipment-related issues.
  • Act as a role model for the department and address any team member's issues with the Brokerage manager.
  • Train team members and assist with any work-related questions.
  • Ensure team members comply with corporate policies and meet company performance standards.
  • Address team members' concerns with the brokerage manager.
  • Assist with team members' and managers' workload in their absence.
  • Perform duties under general supervision and report any issues to the manager.
  • Process Customs Brokerage for air and ocean shipments.
  • Data entry and processing of various import-related documentation for submission to U.S. Customs and PGAs (Participating Government Agencies).
  • Follow up on Customs matters and resolve problems.
  • Answer both customer inquiries and inter-company inquiries.
  • Handle remote filings.
  • Classify goods in the harmonized tariff schedule (broad range of commodities).
  • Perform other related duties and projects as requested or assigned by manager and supervisors.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in Customs Brokerage for both air and ocean shipments.
  • Excellent leadership skills, such as being approachable and able to train others.
  • Must be a team player, proactive, and have a flexible attitude.
  • Ability to exercise a high level of discretion and confidentiality.
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment.
  • Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of Customs Brokerage software; experience working with Cargowise is a plus.
  • Customs Brokerage license is preferred.
