The Armory Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving youth by promoting fitness, education, and community engagement through athletics and special events. Located in Washington Heights, The Armory is home to the premier indoor track & field facility in the United States and hosts hundreds of sporting, cultural, educational, and other events each year.

Position Overview

The Operations and Events Manager will play a key role in ensuring the seamless execution of all Armory Foundation programs and events, from track & field meets to community initiatives and facility rentals. This position requires a dynamic, organized, and detail-oriented individual who can manage multiple priorities, coordinate with internal teams and external partners, and uphold The Armory's high standards of excellence in operations and guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily facility operations, including event setup, breakdown, and maintenance coordination.
  • Manage logistics for athletic events, community programs, and special events hosted at The Armory.
  • Develop and maintain event and track guide staffing assignments.
  • Supervise part-time operations staff and event crews; ensure safety, efficiency, and quality control.
  • Collaborate with leadership on operational improvements and event execution strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, security, and facility-use regulations.

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of experience in event management, operations, or facility coordination (preferably in sports or non-profit settings).
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to manage staff, vendors, and client relationships effectively.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends during major events.
  • Knowledge of athletic events, track & field operations, or large-scale event logistics is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $65,000 - $70,000, plus bonus opportunities
