Description

Talan Products is seeking an Engineering Co-Op to join our team from January 2026 through August 2026. This is a full-time, on-site position (Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm) designed to give students hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

In this role, you will support product development, process optimization, and Lean manufacturing initiatives. You'll assist with new product launches, collaborate on continuous improvement projects, and gain exposure to advanced technologies—all while working alongside experienced professionals.

Our Co-Op program is structured to promote growth and learning, offering progressive responsibilities as you build skills and confidence. As the term advances, you'll take on more complex tasks, contribute to strategic projects, and develop a strong foundation for a future career in engineering.

Physical Demands + Work Environment

  • The employee must be able to lift and carry heavy objects weighing up to forty (40) pounds and work comfortably in a noisy and potentially hazardous industrial environment. Additionally, they should be capable of standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching for extended periods. During job duties, the employee may also need to sit, stoop, kneel, climb, or balance occasionally. They must frequently lift and/or move objects weighing up to forty (40) pounds and may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and a risk of electrical shock. There is occasional exposure to high, precarious places, and specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The work environment often features loud noise levels due to moving mechanical parts.

Requirements

Experience, Knowledge + Skills

  • Prior experience in a manufacturing or engineering setting is preferred but not required for entry-level roles.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle progressively challenging projects and responsibilities.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply these to real-world engineering challenges.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively across teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Education

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering or a related field.
