Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a strong understanding of kitchen operations in a fast-paced environment. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes that meet our fine dining standards. The Line Cook/Prep Cook will work closely with the kitchen staff to support menu planning, food preparation, and adherence to food safety regulations.

Duties

  • Prepare ingredients and assist in the cooking process for various menu items.
  • Follow recipes and presentation specifications to maintain consistency in food quality.
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives and other food preparation tools.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering to food safety standards.
  • Assist in menu planning by providing input on seasonal ingredients and dish ideas.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
  • Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and report shortages to management.
  • Participate in training sessions on food handling, safety protocols, and culinary techniques.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a kitchen or dietary department preferred, particularly in fine dining settings.
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in the food industry.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent knife skills and proficiency with various cooking methods.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • A passion for culinary arts and willingness to learn new skills.
