Lauderdale Yacht Club is a Premiere Private Club open to Members and Guests only near downtown Fort Lauderdale focusing on a family friendly experience for its Members and Guests. We provide food and beverage services, (fine dining and upscale casual dining) social activities, with sailing, tennis, fitness center, an Olympic size swimming pool, and summer camp and other activities for children. We are a Platinum Club of America.

BACKGROUND SCREENING AND DRUG TESTING REQUIRED WHICH INCLUDES MARIJUANA.

THIS IS A FULL TIME POSITION WHICH INCLUDES COMPETETIVE COMPENSATION AND A BENEFITS PACKAGE.

NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE IS 5 DAYS PER WEEK (8 to 10 hours a day), INCLUDING WEEKENDS, AND APPROXIMATELY 40-45 HOURS PER WEEK.

POSITION WILL WORK IN OUR BUSY SNACK BAR FRIDAY, SATURDAY and SUNDAY PREPARING FOOD IN A TIMELY MANNER FROM A LIMITED MENU AND WILL ALSO WORK IN A FAST PACED AND BUSY KITCHEN IN OTHER AREAS OF THE LINE AND FOR BANQUETS AS NEEDED.

Duties

• Prepare and assemble a variety of snack bar menu items with efficiency and attention to detail
• Maintain high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and sanitation throughout snack bar and all kitchen areas
• Handle food with care, ensuring proper storage, handling, and portioning according to health regulations
• Cook dishes using appropriate techniques, including knife skills and food presentation standards
• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during busy periods
• Support catering requests and special event setups as needed to enhance Member and guest satisfaction

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

1. High School diploma or GED.

2. At least two years related experience or training.

3. Must become familiar with all kitchen equipment and machinery.

JOB KNOWLEDGE, CORE COMPETENCIES, AND EXPECTATIONS:

1. Hours for the Line Cook - Snack Bar Position require a flexible schedule normally 5 days
   
   per week including weekends.

2. Must have experience in ALL Stations of the Line - including hot
   
   apps/fry, pantry, sauté, grill, and middle stations.

3. Must have the knowledge of basic culinary fundamentals. Breakfast
   
   experience - including omelet station experience is a plus.

Requirements

• Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or kitchen roles within the food industry or restaurant environment
• Strong knowledge of food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures
• Skilled in meal preparation, knife handling, and food presentation techniques
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining quality standards
• Excellent communication skills for serving Members and guests and collaborating with team members
• Prior experience in fine dining or catering environments is advantageous but not required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
