WHAT YOU'LL DO | THE OPPORTUNITY
Maple Street Biscuit Company is seeking an experienced Instructional Designer to research, create, and design instructional programs and systems for both classroom presentation and computer-based training. This role is critical in supporting our business initiatives and enhancing skill development across the organization. The ideal candidate will consult on project teams and work closely with key stakeholders across various roles and departments to develop comprehensive training strategies that align with our organizational objectives and performance metrics. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our training programs effectively address the needs of our employees and drive our business forward.

  • Assess, analyze, and update training programs/systems based on needs to improve performance and productivity.
  • Leverage a variety of methodologies, blended learning approaches, and learning design best practices with an emphasis on real-world application relevant for adult learners in a business environment.
  • Act as the main point of contact of the LMS and maintain the day-to-day operation of the system, including setting up courses, maintaining completion records, creating ad-hoc system reports, assigning content, communicating course requirements to users, and ensuring weekly feed from the HRIS system is accurate.
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal departments to resolve technical learning system support issues, optimizing the learning experience for learners, trainers, and field leaders.
  • Collaborate with project teams to develop and implement learning solutions to best meet the business' needs.
  • Develop training manuals, materials, and job aids ensuring material accomplishes the stated learning/organizational objectives.
  • Execute evaluation strategies and tools to measure program effectiveness. Leverage feedback into design and on-going maintenance of training/learning solutions.
  • Create supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games etc.).
  • Clearly communicate project milestones, issues, risks, and needs to the Manager of Employee Training and other project stakeholders.

What You'll Need
Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor's degree and 2 years of related work experience in Instructional Design.
  • Experience administrating an LMS highly preferred.

Knowledge And Skills

  • Experience working with restaurant content and developing training for multiple delivery modalities (traditional/online classroom, and self-paced eLearning modules) preferred.
  • LMS administration and system management experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of instructional design and adult learning techniques.
  • Experience utilizing Articulate 360/Storyline and Camtasia software.
  • Experience in working with Adobe photoshop, Illustrator, and In Design.
  • Communicate effectively in visual, oral, and written form.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
