About the Role:

Our client, a top-tier engineering consultancy, is seeking a Senior Fire Protection Engineer to lead and manage a dynamic team of fire protection professionals. This role is ideal for a seasoned engineer with a strong technical background, leadership skills, and a passion for advancing fire protection standards. As a Senior Fire Protection Engineer, you will oversee a team of 5-6 engineers, lead project delivery, and contribute to the strategic growth of the fire protection division.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership & Management

    • Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of 5-6 fire protection engineers and designers.
    • Delegate tasks, oversee workload distribution, and ensure high-quality project deliverables.
    • Conduct performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and support professional growth.

  • Project Management & Technical Expertise

    • Lead fire protection engineering projects from concept to completion, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
    • Design and review fire suppression systems, fire alarm systems, and egress strategies.
    • Conduct fire and life safety code consulting, performance-based design, and hazard analysis.

  • Client Engagement & Business Development

    • Serve as a key point of contact for clients, ensuring satisfaction and maintaining strong relationships.
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, preparing proposals and presentations.
    • Collaborate with the business development team to grow the fire protection portfolio.

  • Code Compliance & Quality Assurance

    • Ensure all projects comply with NFPA, ICC, and other relevant codes and standards.
    • Conduct quality checks on designs, calculations, and documentation prepared by the team.
    • Stay updated on industry trends and regulations to guide best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • PE license required (Fire Protection preferred).
  • 8+ years of experience in fire protection engineering, including team management experience.
  • Expertise in fire suppression and alarm systems, fire and life safety codes, and performance-based design.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage a remote team effectively.
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
  • Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.) and fire modeling tools is a plus.
