Lyte Fiber, LLC ("Lyte") is seeking an accomplished and experienced telecommunications operations professional to fill the role of Construction Project Manager. Lyte is a private-equity backed fiber broadband start-up with ambitious plans to scale and expand its FTTH, SMB and MDU business lines across multiple regions. The Construction Project Manager will be joining an experienced team that brings decades of fiber broadband, infrastructure and technology experience with a proven track record of building and growing highly-successful businesses.

The Construction Project Manager will be the leader of their assigned fiber to the premise projects. The Construction Project Manager has the ultimate responsibility of managing the project budget, establishing and meeting project timelines, managing the overall project team and interfacing with internal and external stakeholders, as required, to ensure there is seamless communication throughout the project. The project oversight will begin at the planning phase and extend through OSP design, permitting, construction, go-live and, ultimately, project closeout. This individual should feel comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and possess excellent organization and communication skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Review and fully understand the project scope, requirements, and associated contracts.
  • Create and execute project work plans and schedules within budget and project specifications.
  • Manage all daytoday operational aspects of a project to ensure ontime delivery; including, but not limited to, fiber network design, permitting, material delivery, construction management, purchase orders, invoice approvals, system readiness, network operations acceptance and closeout packages.
  • Provide accurate reporting and forecasting of project timelines and required resources.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with internal and external stakeholders with prepared reports, progress updates, answering questions, resolving issues and managing change requests to project scope and plans.
  • Foresee potential risks and propose mitigation solutions that will allow the project to stay on track and on budget. Report identified risks to management.
  • Work closely with the OSP Engineering and OSP Operations teams to ensure alignment with the delivery of construction ready packages for a smooth transition to construction and the ongoing communication back to engineering to incorporate field changes.
  • Coordinate with Lyte Fiber's Community Development team on initial meetings with the city for project kick off and throughout the project as needed to ensure there is cohesive communication with the city stakeholders and residents.
  • Collaborate with the Sales and Marketing teams to coordinate the delivery of pre and post construction marketing materials to notify the community of Lyte Fiber's intentions to bring fiber based highspeed internet and promote the new service offerings.
  • Approve project invoices and work with the Accounting team on timely progress payments in compliance with contract payment terms.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, local and industry regulations, standards, specifications, and best practices.
  • Evaluate and recommend process improvements to enable better project performance, improve forecasting, shorten time to resolution, increase resource efficiency and decrease cost.
  • Respond clearly and effectively to spoken requests over the phone or in person, and to verbal or written instructions.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, supervisors and the general public.
  • Report weekly to senior management on project status, timelines, monthly and quarterly forecast of progress, and exception events which may trigger a reassessment, incremental capital, change in the resource plan, or change in timing of planned service availability or other matters as they apply.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Telecommunications, Business Administration, or equivalent in a related field.
  • Previous Project Management experience with 5+ years' experience in telecommunications with a strong preference for managing projects involving OSP fiber design and construction.
  • Knowledge of Telecom construction and engineering, project budget creation and management, project scheduling and tracking, project finance, cost reporting, and field office operations.
  • PMP or comparable project management certifications are highly desirable.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to manage big picture concerns and details as needed, prioritizing tasks and delegating effectively.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to work with different functional groups and all levels of employees to achieve results effectively and professionally.
  • Proficient in MS Office software and general project management and ERP applications.
  • Ability to Work with Google Earth KMZ's and KML's.

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times
  • Will require travel as needed up to 20%
