One of my clients in the Norfolk area is looking to add a Senior Accountant to their team This position will be responsible for supporting the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate financial recordkeeping, assisting with month-end closing, and maintaining compliance with company policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
  • Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts on a regular basis
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Maintain and update fixed asset schedules
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed
  • Assist in preparing financial statements and management reports
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal financial policies
  • Prepare schedules for external audits and support audit requests
  • Support budgeting and forecasting efforts
  • Assist with special projects and process improvements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • 4+ years of relevant accounting or finance experience required
  • Knowledge of GAAP is a MUST
  • Excel skills
  • Excellent communication skills
