One Year Fellowship (July 1, 2026-June 30, 2027)

MaineHealth is currently seeking a Quality and Safety Fellow to join their Portland, Maine location. In this newly created position you will be integrated into the MaineHealth Quality and Safety Teamand prepared for a futureleadership rolein clinical quality and patient safety.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience working in a hospital or integrated health system asmedical doctor, registered nurse, nurse practitioner, pharmacist, or physician assistant.

This will be a flexible fulltime position allowing you to work up to 20% of the time in an additional clinical role if desired.

Summary
The Quality and Safety Fellow role will gain competency in performance improvement, patient safety, healthcare quality data analysis, hospital accreditation requirements, hospital infection prevention, patient experience measurement and improvement, and managing a clinical quality improvement project. This role will participate in quality department meetings and improvement projects, lead a quality improvement project, participate in didactic activities, and present scholarly work as assigned.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities (KSAs)

  • Education: Completion of education leading to licensure as a Medical Doctor, Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, Pharmacist or Physician Assistant required.
  • License/Certifications: Current state licensure required.
  • Experience: Five years of experience required. Experience working in a hospital or healthcare system required. Time spent in graduate school/training may be substituted as work experience.
