Applications are now being accepted in the Personnel Office, Town Municipal Offices, 100 Fairway Drive, North Kingstown, RI: CLERK I – FinanceFINANCE DEPARTMENT The Town of North Kingstown is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Data Entry Clerk to support the Finance Department. This position performs a variety of clerical and accounting-related duties with moderate complexity and requires independent judgment and accuracy. Key Responsibilities: Receive, record, and process all receipts, including resident tax payments.Prepare daily bank deposits.Provide customer service at the public counter and by phone, responding to questions and concerns from residents and vendorsProcess invoices for payment, ensuring they match purchase orders and payments are recorded in proper general ledger accounts.Maintain vendor files and ensure all required documentation (including IRS Form W-9) is complete.Assist in preparing and processing year-end 1099-MISC and 1099-NEC forms.Communicate with vendors to resolve billing and payment inquiries. Qualifications: Graduation from high school or GED equivalent and at least one year of experience in accounts payable/bookkeeping/accounting. Associate degree in accounting or business is preferred. Experience with Microsoft office products (Excel, Office, Outlook). Ability to create and work with Excel spreadsheets.
