Hair Stylist

Overview

We are seeking a talented and passionate Hair Stylist / Barber to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to showcase your skills in hair styling and barbering while providing exceptional customer service in a welcoming salon environment. Our ideal candidate is not only skilled in various hair techniques but also possesses strong communication skills and a commitment to maintaining high standards of sanitation and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Provide a range of hair services including cutting, coloring, styling, and barbering techniques.
• Utilize knowledge of color theory to achieve desired results for clients.
• Perform hair extensions, eyelash extensions, and nail care as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations and tools in accordance with industry standards.
• Use salon software, specifically MINDBODY, for scheduling appointments and managing client records.
• Assist with front desk duties including greeting clients, answering phones, and managing retail sales.
• Mentor junior stylists and barbers to enhance their skills and promote a collaborative environment.
• Engage with clients to understand their needs and provide personalized recommendations for hair care products.
• Upsell salon services and retail products to maximize customer satisfaction and salon profitability.

Qualifications

• Valid cosmetology or barbering license is required.
• Proficiency in hair styling techniques, including straight razor usage and hair threading.
• Familiarity with salon management software such as MINDBODY is preferred.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients.
• Knowledge of retail math to assist in sales transactions and inventory management.
• Experience in makeup application is a plus but not mandatory.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Base Pay: $ $29.74 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 35 per week
