Atlanta, Georgia, United States Allyon, Inc. Full time

Job Description
Position Summary
The Director, Business Development is a senior leader responsible for expanding Allyon's footprint across federal and defense markets, driving the company's transition from a staffing-centric organization to a trusted prime contractor and technology solutions partner. This role leads strategic growth initiatives, develops new customer relationships, shapes capture strategies, and advances opportunities from identification through award. The Director will collaborate closely with executive leadership, operations, recruiting, and proposal teams to position Allyon for long-term, sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities
Growth Strategy & Market Expansion

  • Develop and execute Allyon's business development strategy to support revenue and capability expansion goals.
  • Identify, qualify, and prioritize opportunities within targeted federal agencies, defense markets, and strategic commercial sectors.
  • Conduct competitive analysis, market segmentation, and customer needs assessments to inform investment and bid/no-bid decisions.
  • Drive the transition from staff augmentation to prime contracting by positioning Allyon's emerging technical offerings, past performance, and unique value propositions.

Capture Management

  • Lead end-to-end capture efforts including opportunity shaping, customer engagement, teaming strategy, and technical solution alignment.
  • Build and manage capture plans, win themes, discriminators, price-to-win considerations, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Cultivate deep relationships with government customers, primes, and industry partners to influence acquisition approaches and strengthen proposal competitiveness.

Customer & Partner Engagement

  • Serve as a primary external representative of Allyon in meetings with government leaders, contracting officers, program managers, and teaming partners.
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of trusted partner relationships—both large integrators and niche technology companies—to support teaming, subcontracting, and prime pursuits.
  • Represent Allyon at industry days, conferences, and networking events to increase visibility and brand recognition.

Pipeline & Proposal Leadership

  • Maintain a healthy, accurate growth pipeline in alignment with strategic targets and EOS-driven business processes.
  • Work closely with proposal management to develop compliant, compelling submissions that reflect Allyon's capabilities and strengths.
  • Support solution development for proposals by collaborating with SMEs and technical staff to craft value-added approaches.
  • Oversee pipeline reporting, win/loss analysis, and forecasting for the executive team.

Internal Collaboration & Leadership

  • Partner with Operations and Recruiting to ensure delivery capabilities align with customer and market demands.
  • Provide guidance to leadership on market trends, competitive positioning, and strategic investments.
  • Contribute to corporate strategic planning, including capability development, partnership models, and organizational evolution.
  • Embody Allyon's culture of integrity, teamwork, and mission-driven service—driving company-wide alignment on growth priorities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Technology, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 8–12+ years of progressive business development experience in federal contracting, preferably within DoD, federal health, or civilian agencies.
  • Proven track record of winning prime contracts and leading multi-million-dollar capture efforts.
  • Familiarity with federal acquisition processes (FAR/DFARS), contract vehicles, procurement cycles, and industry best practices.
  • Strong understanding of IT, cybersecurity, systems engineering, program management, or mission support service offerings.
  • Excellent communication, customer engagement, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within EOS-based organizational structures a plus.
  • Clearance required or ability to obtain.

Success Measures

  • Growth of qualified pipeline aligned with strategic priorities.
  • Successful capture of prime opportunities.
  • Increased penetration into target agencies and technology solution areas.
  • Strengthened partner ecosystem and improved teaming outcomes.
  • Demonstrated alignment with Allyon's long-term transformation strategy.
