Our client is a well-established Southern California general contractor specializing in ground-up and remodel projects for major restaurant and fuel brands such as Jack in the Box, Popeyes, Del Taco, ARCO, and ampm . With a small, tight-knit team and a steady pipeline of work, they pride themselves on efficiency, clear communication, and delivering quality projects on schedule.
The Project Manager will oversee multiple commercial construction projects simultaneously — managing all phases from preconstruction through closeout. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and extensive experience in restaurant or retail fuel construction . The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working collaboratively with field superintendents, ownership, and clients to achieve successful outcomes.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage all phases of assigned projects, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and closeout.
- Oversee 3–4 active projects in coordination with the project team, controller, and field superintendents.
- Prepare, review, and track bids and subcontractor scopes using Bid Mail and Blue Book .
- Manage project budgets and financial tracking using Master Builder .
- Maintain detailed project schedules, reports, and cost forecasts.
- Ensure all work meets plans, specifications, safety, and quality standards.
- Lead subcontractor meetings, issue RFIs and change orders, and manage project documentation.
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress, resolve issues, and verify compliance with project objectives.
- Foster strong working relationships with clients, architects, and subcontractors.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial construction project management, preferably in restaurant or fuel station projects .
- Proficiency in Excel, Outlook, and Word ; experience with Master Builder , Bid Mail , and Blue Book preferred.
- Strong understanding of construction scheduling, budgeting, and cost control.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
