An Assistant Project Manager (APM) plays a crucial role in supporting the Project Manager in the planning, execution, and completion of projects. This position is integral to the smooth operation of project activities, ensuring that deadlines are met, budgets are adhered to, and quality standards are maintained. The APM functions as a bridge between various stakeholders, facilitating communication and coordination to propel the project forward efficiently.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Aid the Project Manager in developing comprehensive project plans, including defining scope, objectives, and deliverables.

  • Help in identifying and allocating resources necessary for project completion, ensuring that they are used efficiently.

  • Assist in creating detailed project schedules and timelines, monitoring progress against these schedules, and making adjustments as needed.

  • Organize and participate in project meetings, preparing agendas, taking notes, and following up on action items.

  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including meeting minutes, progress reports, and project plans.

  • Quality Assurance: Assist in implementing quality control measures to ensure that project deliverables meet the required standards.

  • Identify potential project risks and assist in developing mitigation strategies to address them proactively.

  • Help in identifying and resolving project issues, ensuring minimal impact on the project timeline and objectives.

  • Assist in tracking project expenses and budgets, ensuring that financial resources are managed effectively.

  • Help in identifying cost-saving opportunities and implementing measures to control project costs.

  • Assist in preparation and presentation of financial reports, highlighting key financial metrics and variances.

  • Support the Project Manager in coordinating the activities of the project team, ensuring that tasks are clearly defined and assigned.

  • A positive attitude aimed at the relentless pursuit of solutions to resolve various challenges.

  • Other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with team members and stakeholders.

  • Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.

  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving skills to address project challenges and issues.

  • High level of attention to detail to ensure accuracy in project documentation and reporting.

Education/Experience:
  • A bachelor's degree in project management, business administration, engineering, or a related field is typically required. Construction Management degree is preferred.

  • Professional certifications such as CAPM (Certified Associate in Project Management) are advantageous.

  • Previous experience in project management or a related role is essential.

  • Experience in the relevant industry (e.g., industrial, food manufacturing, cold storage, etc.) is beneficial.
  • BIM experience is beneficial.
Travel Requirements:
  • Ability to travel regularly for site visits, attend project meetings, corporate trainings, and events.
  • Travel expected to be at least 25%.
  • Ability to relocate to be onsite full time is preferred.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance during business trips.
  • Compliance with company travel policies and procedures.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time.
  • Ability to climb flights of stairs and ladders.
  • Ability to use a computer, phone, iPad, printer, scanner, and other office equipment.
  • Visual acuity for detailed work and computer use
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 25 pounds of files, documents, and materials.
