POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for directing, coordinating, and managing the general operations of all Food Service programs, including Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) and third-party contracts.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Recruit, hire, train, develop, schedule, and supervise staff and volunteers. Review and evaluate performance. Conduct monthly staff meetings and training opportunities as required. Develop strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals. Ensure staff certifications are current while maintaining accurate records. Facilitate complex internal and external communication and provide staff leadership.
Manage, direct, and supervise food programs to meet the needs of the community and fulfill food program objectives. Establish new programs and expand programs within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans.
Develop, monitor, and control food service programs and budgets. Ensure program operates within budget and appropriate program fees are collected.
Plan appropriate menus ensuring all meals are nutritionally balanced. Work with nutritionist as appropriate.
Oversee ordering of food and beverage purchases conducted by Head Cook, ensuring most cost-effective and nutritional options are chosen.
Supervise, develop, and maintain relationships with food program sites and ensure compliance with program requirements. Provide initial and ongoing training for site personnel.
Supports the implementation of regular audit systems to determine efficiencies and ensures quality benchmarks are met in program delivery as related to USDA and provider regulations.
Ensure a high level of cleanliness, meeting all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
Responsible for efficient and timely administration of financial records, eligibility determinations and billing. Prepare compilation of program statistics. Provide attention to detail, accuracy, and meet deadlines.
Develop and coordinate all necessary marketing and promotion for related programs and services. Recruit program participants. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of participation in the program.
Respond to all member and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.
Model and maintain a positive, professional, and an excellent customer service environment.
Assure compliance with state and local regulations and grants as they relate to program areas. Ensure YMCA program standards are met, and safety procedures are followed.
Follows all YMCA policies, rules, regulations, and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures. Completes reports, as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Associates degree or equivalent in Nutrition related field required. Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition or related field preferred.
Experience:
A minimum of three years working in administrative/management role with grant-funded programs.
One year of food service management and supervisory experience.
Experience creating organizational structures that assist in managing multiple sites and maintaining program data.
Experience working with diverse populations.
Additional Requirements:
Serve Safe Certification
CPR/AED and First Aid within 60 days of hire.
Valid Massachusetts driver's license and driving record that meets YMCA automobile insurance coverage requirements.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must have the capability to engage in the physical activities' incidental to the job, including without limitation, the capability to:
Regularly stand; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk and hear. Frequently required to walk; sit and taste or smell. Lift and move children. Lift and move equipment and furniture as necessary to facilitate the execution of classroom activities. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus including ability to supervise and monitor children both by sight and sound always. Remain alert during naptime supervision. Respond to children in the case of an emergency to ensure safety, such as the capability to react quickly and chase after a child if he or she runs toward danger or tries to leave the classroom. Most days, employee will be working a portion of the day outside in temperatures ranging from 15 degrees Fahrenheit (with wind chill) up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Attend to the needs of children with disabilities, including physically challenged children.
