Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental clinic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care, assisting the dentist during procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of the clinic. This position requires a strong commitment to patient comfort and safety, as well as proficiency in various dental practices.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and available.
  • Perform tasks related to general dentistry, including taking dental x-rays, applying fluoride treatments, and assisting with endodontic procedures.
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation for each patient visit, including treatment plans and progress notes.
  • Manage patient records using dental software such as Epic, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulations.
  • Take vital signs as needed to monitor patient health before procedures.
  • Engage with pediatric patients effectively, providing comfort and reassurance during their visits.
  • Operate 3D scanners for imaging purposes when required.
  • Support the dental receptionist with scheduling appointments and managing patient inquiries as needed.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the dental clinic environment, adhering to infection control protocols.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Knowledge of general dentistry practices is essential; experience in pediatrics or endodontics is a plus.
  • Familiarity with medical documentation processes and dental software systems such as Epic is advantageous.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients and team members.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Certification or training in dental assisting is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential.
