Position Overview
The Director of Executive Protection & Security Operations is responsible for leading and managing a high-performing team of Executive Protection Agents and Site Managers, ensuring the safety, privacy, and operational excellence of all protective services. This role serves as the primary liaison between the client, internal leadership, and field teams, requiring a strategic mindset, deep security expertise, and exceptional organizational and communication skills.
The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in physical security, executive protection, and project management, along with a proven ability to lead teams, manage complex operations, and build strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Oversight
- Direct and supervise Executive Protection Agents and Site Managers across multiple locations.
- Provide coaching, performance management, and professional development for team members.
- Ensure consistent execution of security protocols and standards.
- Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the client, ensuring satisfaction and alignment with expectations.
- Collaborate with internal leadership to communicate operational updates, risks, and strategic initiatives.
- Manage client relationships with professionalism, discretion, and responsiveness.
- Operational Management
- Oversee daily security operations, including scheduling, staffing, and incident response.
- Develop and implement security plans tailored to client needs and risk profiles.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including licensing and reporting requirements.
- Strategic Planning & Risk Management
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
- Align security operations with broader organizational goals and client priorities.
- Lead crisis management and emergency response planning.
- Project & Resource Management
- Manage budgets, vendor relationships, and resource allocation.
- Track performance metrics and generate reports for internal and client review.
- Drive continuous improvement in security operations and service delivery.
Required Qualifications
- Valid New York State security guard license.
- Current New York State Armed Guard License (NYSDOS).
- Valid state-issued driver's license.
- Firearms permit and training certification.
- Basic first aid and CPR certification.
- Familiarity with emergency response procedures.
- Minimum 7–10 years of experience in executive protection, armed security, law enforcement, military service, or related fields.
- Proven experience managing teams and complex security operations.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to lead multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and security management platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications such as CPP, PSP, CISSP, CISM, or PMP.
- Experience liaising with high-profile clients and senior executives.
- Familiarity with NYC's regulatory environment and security landscape.
- Multilingual capabilities.
