POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) Instructor to join our team in a substitute/relief capacity. This role is ideal for a candidate with a flexible schedule who is comfortable delivering lecture content via the Zoom platform and has an interest in supporting clinical or skills laboratory instruction.

This is a per diem (Substitute) position with no fixed schedule; however, advance notice will be provided prior to assignment. The role has potential to transition into a dedicated part-time position based on performance and program needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience facilitating interactive online lectures and engaging remote learners.
  • Familiarity with clinical skills instruction and simulation-based learning.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver lecture content via Zoom in accordance with curriculum standards.
  • Assist in clinical or skills lab instruction as needed.
  • Review and follow physician orders and procedural protocols during instruction.
  • Maintain compliance with BVNPT regulations and institutional policies.
  • Collaborate with program leadership to ensure instructional continuity.

LAB INSTRUCTION:

The instructor will oversee and facilitate laboratory sessions for students in the lab. This role involves providing hands-on instruction, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and fostering a supportive learning environment that encourages student engagement and inquiry.

  • Interacts effectively and professionally with students, staff, faculty, and external customers of the College including Advisory Board members and externship and other off campus sites.
  • Demonstrated exceptional customer focused skills. Ability to address student needs and resolve issues with diplomacy and tact. Commitment to the success of the students and the school.

  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Interpersonal skills including questioning, listening and showing concern and respect for others.
  • Possess solid writing skills to communicate effectively in memos, letters, and via email.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills including ability to project voice and be clearly understood when speaking in front of a group.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEl

  • Current RN license in good standing.
  • Bachelor's degree in any field from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of clinical nursing experience.
  • Prior experience teaching in an accredited VN/PN or RN program.
  • Proficiency in Zoom-based instruction and digital classroom management.
  • Must meet all BVNPT instructor requirements as outlined in California Code of Regulations, Title 16, Section 2526.
  • Completed or currently enrolled in advanced courses in the field of education including courses in the principles of teaching.
  • Teaching Experience in Theory
  • RN $50 with Bachelors
