Responsibilities

  • Greet customers warmly and offer personalized assistance to enhance their shopping experience.
  • Conduct engaging product demos to showcase features and benefits, encouraging customer interest and sales.
  • Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems efficiently for transactions, including cash handling, credit card processing, and receipts.
  • Assist with merchandising efforts by organizing displays, stocking shelves, and maintaining an attractive store layout.
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries in person with professionalism and courtesy, following proper etiquette.
  • Identify upselling opportunities to maximize sales while ensuring customer needs are met authentically.
  • Supervise or assist in supervising team members when needed, fostering a collaborative environment focused on achieving sales goals.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sales floor to ensure a safe and inviting shopping environment.

Qualifications

  • Previous retail sales experience preferred; experience in grocery stores or similar environments is a plus.
  • Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures to ensure accurate transactions.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to connect with diverse customers; bilingual abilities are highly valued.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform retail math accurately for pricing, discounts, and stock management.
  • Experience in supervising or leading team members is advantageous but not required; leadership qualities are appreciated.
  • Knowledge of merchandising techniques and stock management practices to keep the store visually appealing and well-stocked.
  • Excellent phone etiquette when assisting customers over the phone or via other communication channels.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as stocking shelves, lifting merchandise, and standing for extended periods.
  • Basic math skills for daily retail operations including cash handling and transaction balancing.
