Job Description

As a Security Guard - Retail Patrols Unarmed Full-Time in Jersey City, NJ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more.

As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol retail locations to help create a secure environment for customers and staff. Your presence and routine patrols will help to deter security-related incidents, while your strong communication and customer service skills will support a positive experience for everyone at the location. You will embody our values of agility, reliability, and teamwork, acting with integrity and putting people first as you address security-related needs in a dynamic retail setting.

Pay Rate: $20.00 / Hour

What You'll Do:

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm and professional manner, using problem-solving skills to address issues as they arise.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location, including the interior and exterior perimeter, to help to deter unauthorized activity and promote a secure environment.
  • Observe and report any suspicious activities, hazards, or maintenance issues encountered during patrols.
  • Work closely with location staff and management to support a welcoming and secure atmosphere for employees and customers.
  • Maintain clear and accurate documentation of incidents, observations, and daily activities as required by Allied Universal policies.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of security-related experience is required.
  • A Guard Card or license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Loss prevention experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
