Position Summary
The WHHS ACT Team Leader will be responsible for overseeing the operations of the ACT team and providing clinical oversight of the services provided in conjunction with the Psychiatric Care Provider, as well as supervision of other multidisciplinary team members.
Job Duties include:
Clinical Oversight & Program Leadership
- Direct and coordinate the client admission process, treatment, rehabilitation, and support services of the program in coordination with the psychiatrist or psychiatric nurse practitioner.
- Direct and coordinate the client-centered comprehensive assessment of psychiatric history, mental status and diagnosis, physical and dental health, substance use, education and employment, social functioning, activities of daily living, and family structure.
- Schedule admissions interviews for new consumers, collaborate with the Assistant Team Lead to develop and coordinate the initial assessment and treatment plan, assign the most appropriate staff to the treatment team, and provide clinical supervision for development of comprehensive assessments and treatment plans.
- Lead daily organizational staff meetings and treatment planning meetings to ensure coordinated and effective service delivery.
Team Supervision & Operational Management
- Supervise team members to ensure delivery of best practices and adherence to ethical and evidence-based ACT (Assertive Community Treatment) principles.
- Direct the day-to-day clinical operations, including scheduling staff work hours to ensure adequate coverage for day, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts, as well as on-call responsibilities.
Direct Client Services & Clinical Practice
- Directly provide ACT services to individuals, establishing and maintaining a therapeutic relationship with assigned clients as needed to ensure high-quality care.
Program Development, Compliance & External Engagement
- Maintain the fidelity of the ACT Team, ensuring that services meet state, Medicaid, and evidence-based model standards.
- Participate in National and Regional ACT meetings as scheduled to stay informed on best practices, innovations, and fidelity expectations for ACT programs.
Qualifications:
Education: Must hold a Master's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a closely related Human Services field from an accredited institution.
Licensure: Must be currently licensed or license-eligible in the State of Virginia as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).
Experience:
- A minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience working with adults who have severe and persistent mental illness.
- Demonstrated ability to provide evidence-based, recovery-oriented services in a community behavioral health setting.
Specialized Knowledge:
- Knowledge of and experience with Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) services is highly desired.
- Familiarity with trauma-informed care, rehabilitative approaches, and crisis intervention techniques preferred.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to effectively supervise multidisciplinary teams and ensure fidelity to ACT model standards.
- Proficient in clinical documentation, treatment planning, and use of electronic health records (EHR) systems.

Pay: $83, $93,500.00 per year
