About the Role

1-Tom-Plumber is hiring a skilled Service Technician to join our growing team

This is a mid-level plumbing position ideal for someone who can diagnose, repair, and sell plumbing solutions with accuracy and professionalism. You will be a core contributor to our five-star customer experience, operating between apprentice and lead-level responsibilities.

What You'll Do

1. Technical & Diagnostic Work

• Perform residential and light-commercial plumbing service, maintenance, and repair.
• Diagnose leaks, clogs, and system failures using approved testing methods.
• Complete drain cleaning, fixture replacements, water-heater installs, and leak repairs.
• Follow 1-Tom-Plumber Residential & Commercial Job Standards to ensure clean, efficient, memorable visits.
• Deliver workmanship that reflects the 1-Tom-Plumber brand standard.

2. Documentation & System Accuracy

• Use ServiceTitan to receive, manage, and complete work orders.
• Record all job notes, upload before/after photos, collect signatures, and ensure billing accuracy.
• Verify customer approval before beginning work (especially commercial accounts).
• Maintain full compliance with documentation and data privacy expectations.

3. Customer Experience & Brand Standards

• Communicate clearly and confidently about issues, pricing, and repair options.
• Follow our Five-Star Service Protocol: shoe covers, clean workspace, polite communication, review requests.
• Leave behind the Pink Plunger on first-time visits as a signature 1-Tom-Plumber touchpoint.
• Prioritize customer satisfaction and collaborate with dispatch on any issues.

4. Sales & Revenue Growth

• Identify and recommend additional work when appropriate using transparent menu pricing.
• Present service menus clearly so customers understand their options.
• Convert estimates, secure approvals, and help the company meet revenue goals.

5. Vehicle, Inventory & Equipment Standards

• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional company vehicle.
• Verify material deliveries, organize bins, and manage inventory through ServiceTitan.
• Conduct daily vehicle checks and ensure tools are functioning correctly.

6. Safety & Compliance

• Follow all PPE and safety requirements.
• Report hazards, near misses, and injuries immediately.
• Maintain a zero-incident mindset aligned with OSHA and company safety protocols.

Performance Expectations

• Maintain a rolling 4-week revenue average of $7,500/week collected.
• Keep callback rate below 2%.
• Achieve 100% job documentation (photos, notes, signatures).
• Maintain zero safety violations and strong customer satisfaction.
• Earn consistent 5-star reviews.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years plumbing experience or equivalent technical training.
• Strong understanding of residential & light-commercial plumbing systems.
• Proficiency with ServiceTitan or similar service software.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Professional appearance, punctuality, and strong communication skills.
• Confidence in presenting repair options and upselling when appropriate.

Work Environment

• Full-time, year-round employment.

Pay: $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
