Intermediate technical work performing specialized administrative support activities involving complex work methods, procedures, problems, and specialized terminology. Depending on the functional area of assignment, performs specialized technical work verifying building and contractor licensing codes specific to the permit request, issuing permits, communicating with contractors/owners in person and over the phone regarding their permit application, verifying impact fees, and providing online portal assistance to customers. Requires the exercise of initiative, independent judgment, and discretion in handling delegated administrative details. Responsible for processing and maintaining a large number of administrative support records, scanning, and public records requests. Maintains a variety of confidential office files; compiles data; completes legal forms, timekeeping, and/or payroll, and types reports and letters. Maintains a filing and retrieving system of centralized files for the Division and ensures all necessary documents are readily accessible. Work is performed under the general supervision of an administrative superior and is reviewed through conferences, reports, and results achieved.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of two (2) years of responsible office experience, which includes six (6) months reviewing, overseeing, and leading the work of others.

PREFERENCE FOR EXPERIENCE WITH: Performing customer service in person and over the telephone (must specify on application); working in a call center or high-volume customer service environment in a governmental setting.
