The Employment Development Department (EDD) is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual to join the EDDNext Division as an Information Technology (IT) Specialist II.

In this role, the IT Specialist II supports the EDDNext Project Oversight Group by coordinating the final review of key project artifacts, including the project charter, CA-PAL-required documentation, and requirements and design materials for the EDDNext Division. The position also manages strategies, governance, policies, and provides project manager support for EDDNext initiatives.

The IT Specialist II monitors EDDNext-related project work to ensure compliance with internal EDD policies and procedures, as well as with state-level IT control agency requirements. This includes adherence to policies from the California Department of Technology (CDT) such as CA-PAL and the California Project Management Framework (CA-PMF).

Additionally, the role ensures compliance with Department of Finance (DOF) requirements, including the Financial Analysis Worksheet (FAW), Planning and Expenditure Report (DF-576), Budget Change Proposal (BCP), BCP Expenditure Plan, and BCP Quarterly Expenditure Reports.

The position also promotes and reinforces adherence to project portfolio and project management best practices, following standards such as the Project Management Institute (PMI)'s Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK).
