AP Executive Staffing is proud to partner with a highly reputable healthcare organization in the Buffalo region to recruit a Manager of Hospital Reimbursement & Government Programs. This is a high-impact leadership role that is responsible for overseeing government reimbursement strategy, regulatory reporting, audit coordination, and revenue integrity across a complex healthcare system of hospitals, surgery centers and long-term care facilities.

Reporting to the Director of Reimbursement & Government Programs, you will manage a team of 2 Cost Analysts whose shared goal is to protect and optimize reimbursement, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering accurate financial insight to senior leadership. With the focus on government reimbursement & regulatory o, specific responsibilities will include:

  • Lead reviews of Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement, including rate appeals and regulatory filings.
  • Evaluate state and federal budget impacts and identify potential reimbursement risks and opportunities. Monitor legislative and regulatory changes affecting reimbursement.
  • Oversee governmental third-party contractual reserves.
  • Support portions of the annual financial audit related to reimbursement.
  • Coordinate Medicare cost report audits, wage index reviews, and Medicaid audits.
  • Serve as a primary liaison to government intermediaries, state agencies, and external auditors.
  • Lead revenue enhancement and accuracy initiatives (both historical and forward-looking).
  • Analyze reimbursement performance trends and identify financial improvement opportunities.
  • Partner closely with finance leadership to ensure accurate financial outcomes.
  • Communicate complex reimbursement and regulatory matters to executive leadership, department heads, and internal stakeholders.
  • Assist in leading special projects within the Reimbursement Department.
  • Ensure the reimbursement function aligns with the operational and strategic goals

Skill/Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance or related Healthcare field & 5+ years of
    HOSPITAL
    reimbursement, Medicare/Medicaid, audit/regulatory compliance
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clinical, finance, executive, and regulatory stakeholders
  • Experience and/or the desire to manage a small Healthcare Finance team

Compensation range: $104,000 - $156,000 + generous benefits
