Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Concrete Estimator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate project estimates, analyzing blueprints, and collaborating with clients and project teams to ensure successful project execution. This role requires a strong understanding of construction estimating processes, cost control, and project management principles within the construction industry. The Concrete Estimator will play a vital role in bidding processes and contract negotiations, contributing to the overall profitability and efficiency of our projects.

Duties

  • Review and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications using Bluebeam software.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for concrete work based on project scope, materials, labor, and equipment needs.
  • Utilize HeavyBid or similar estimating software to develop accurate pricing models.
  • Conduct quantity takeoffs and analyze project plans to determine material requirements.
  • Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, and vendors to negotiate prices and terms effectively.
  • Assist in bid preparation and submission, ensuring compliance with project requirements and deadlines.
  • Monitor project costs throughout the construction process to ensure adherence to budgets and identify potential cost overruns.
  • Support contract negotiations by providing technical insights related to concrete work scope and pricing.
  • Coordinate with construction site teams to gather on-the-ground insights that influence accurate estimations.
  • Contribute to project management efforts by providing estimates that align with construction schedules and resource planning.

Experience

  • Proven experience in construction estimating, specifically within concrete or heavy civil projects.
  • Strong proficiency with Bluebeam for digital plan review and markup.
  • Familiarity with HeavyBid or similar estimating software tools.
  • Solid understanding of construction site operations, contracts, cost control, and pricing strategies.
  • Experience in negotiation with vendors, subcontractors, and clients is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of construction management principles and project management practices related to estimating functions.
  • Prior experience working on construction sites is a plus, providing practical insights into project execution.
