Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Dental Hygiene Assistant to support the dental hygienist and dental team in providing high-quality patient care. The Dental Hygiene Assistant plays a key role in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment while ensuring patient comfort and efficient workflow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the dental hygienist with coronal polishing, examinations, and preventive procedures
  • Prepare treatment rooms prior to patient arrival and clean and disinfect rooms after patient dismissal, ensuring proper sterilization and strict infection control compliance
  • Clean, disinfect, and organize dental instruments and equipment according to clinic protocols
  • Set up trays and materials needed for hygiene procedures
  • Suction, pass instruments, and support patient comfort during treatment
  • Educate patients on basic oral hygiene practices as directed by the hygienist or dentist
  • Maintain accurate records and update patient charts as needed

Qualifications & Skills

  • Knowledge of dental hygiene procedures and infection-control standards
  • Strong attention to detail and cleanliness
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented clinical environment
  • Compassionate, patient-focused attitude
  • Ability to multitask and manage time efficiently
  • Dentrix knowledge preferred

Education & Experience

  • Dental assistant or dental hygiene assistant training preferred
  • Certification or registration (if required by local regulations)

Work Environment

  • Requires standing for extended periods and handling dental instruments
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required
