Duties

  • Safely operate a range of commercial trucks such as tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks across designated routes.
  • Load and unload freight efficiently using appropriate equipment like forklifts when necessary.
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with all regulations.
  • Deliver freight to various destinations promptly while adhering to scheduled routes and delivery windows.
  • Manage route driving responsibilities with a focus on safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Secure cargo properly to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage logs, inspection reports, and other required documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery status or any issues encountered on the road.
  • Follow all federal, state, and local transportation laws and company policies to uphold safety standards at all times.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a truck driver with a strong background in commercial driving; delivery driver experience is highly valued.
  • Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with endorsements relevant to the vehicle types operated (e.g., tanker, refrigerated trailer).
  • Skilled in driving manual transmission vehicles with confidence and precision.
  • Experience operating specialized trucks such as flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, or roll-off trucks is preferred.
  • Ability to load & unload freight efficiently using forklifts or other equipment when necessary.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols related to freight handling and vehicle operation.
  • Strong route planning skills with an emphasis on timely deliveries.
  • Excellent communication skills for coordinating with dispatch teams and clients.
  • Physical ability to handle loading/unloading tasks and perform vehicle inspections regularly.
