We are a fast-growing, fully remote firm seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Client Accounting Specialist to help maintain accurate books and support essential accounting workflows for multiple clients.
This role is focused on high-quality production work, not advisory. However, the ideal candidate will be sharp enough to recognize trends or issues in client data and bring them to the Owner's attention.
Job Details
Job Title: Client Accounting Specialist
Job Type: Part-time (20–30 hours to start)
Growth Opportunity: Potential to advance to full-time
Work Location: Fully Remote
Schedule: Flexible (Monday–Friday)
Compensation: $22–$40 per hour (experience-based)
Time Off: Work when you want and take time away when you need to, as long as deadlines are met
Most candidates will fall between $22–$32/hr. Higher rates (up to $40) are reserved for exceptional efficiency, accuracy, software proficiency, and multi-client experience.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate books in QuickBooks Online and/or Xero
- Categorize transactions and complete monthly reconciliations
- Prepare and deliver monthly financial statements
- Communicate with clients to obtain missing information
- Manage Accounts Payable workflows
- Manage Accounts Receivable workflows
- Process payroll through ADP (experience preferred; training available)
- Prepare and file Sales Tax for assigned clients
- Assist with cleanup, catch-up, or correction projects
- Identify inconsistencies, unusual trends, or potential issues in client data and escalate appropriately
- Attend weekly team meetings (Mondays at 1pm CST) and weekly supervisor 1:1
- Participate in onboarding and ongoing training sessions
Required Qualifications
- Certification in QuickBooks Online OR Xero
- 2+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
- Strong understanding of A/P, A/R, payroll fundamentals, and reconciliations
- Ability to manage multiple client accounts independently
- Excellent organization, communication, and time-management skills
- Must be a U.S. resident and legally eligible to work in the U.S.
- Must pass a background check

Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in both QuickBooks Online and Xero
- Experience or certification with ADP payroll
- Experience with sales tax filings
- Cleanup/catch-up bookkeeping experience
- Multi-client firm experience
- Strong written communication and documentation skills
