We are seeking an analytical and technically minded professional to join our team as a Capture Analyst & Technical Solution Architect. This dual-role position is ideal for someone early in their career who wants to gain comprehensive experience in federal contracting. From opportunity identification through technical solution development. This role requires exceptional writing skills. You'll be crafting compelling narratives that translate complex technical solutions into clear, persuasive proposal content. You'll work closely with our capture and proposal teams to analyze government contract opportunities, develop competitive intelligence, and architect winning technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Capture Analysis & Competitive Intelligence
  • Analyze federal contract opportunities (RFIs, Sources Sought, draft RFPs) to identify client requirements, evaluation criteria, and competitive landscape
  • Conduct market research and competitive intelligence gathering on incumbent contractors, teaming partners, and competitors
  • Identify discriminators and capture strategies based on solicitation analysis
  • Track and analyze government procurement vehicles (GSA, IDIQ, BPA, etc.) relevant to company capabilities
  • Develop written capture artifacts including competitive assessments, capability gap analyses, win themes, and strategic recommendations
  • Monitor , eBuy, and agency-specific procurement portals for relevant opportunities

Technical Solution Architecture & Writing

  • Translate capture intelligence and customer requirements into technical solution concepts
  • Develop solution architectures that align with government requirements and evaluation criteria
  • Write clear, compelling technical approaches, system architectures, and solution narratives for proposals
  • Draft technical volumes, executive summaries, and solution descriptions that effectively communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical evaluators
  • Create persuasive content that highlights discriminators, benefits, and value propositions
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to validate technical feasibility and innovation
  • Transform SME input and technical details into polished, evaluator-focused proposal content
  • Support proposal teams with technical writing, graphics development, and solution refinement

Collaboration & Communication

  • Participate in capture planning sessions and contribute to capture strategy development
  • Prepare written briefing materials, capture plans, and decision memoranda for leadership review
  • Support solution validation sessions with technical teams and potential teaming partners
  • Assist in developing presentation materials for customer engagements and industry days

Requirements:

Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, English, Technical Writing, or related field

Experience: 3+ years of professional experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Federal government contracting (proposal development, capture, or BD support)
  • Technical writing, proposal writing, or solution architecture
  • Business analysis or competitive intelligence
  • IT consulting or systems integration

Technical Skills:

  • Strong analytical and research capabilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
  • Ability to read and interpret government solicitations and technical requirements
  • Understanding of IT systems, architectures, and technology trends

Core Competencies:

  • Exceptional written communication skills with demonstrated ability to produce clear, concise, and persuasive technical content
  • Strong editing and proofreading abilities with meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to adapt writing style for different audiences (technical evaluators, executive decision-makers, program managers)
  • Proven capability to synthesize complex technical information into compelling narratives
  • Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
  • Self-motivated with ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Collaborative team player with customer-focused mindset
  • Ability to obtain and maintain any required government security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Portfolio of writing samples demonstrating technical writing, proposal content, or similar professional writing
  • Familiarity with federal procurement processes and contract vehicles (FAR, DFARS, GSA Schedules, IDIQ contracts)
  • Experience with proposal development tools and collaboration platforms
  • Knowledge of government IT requirements (NIST frameworks, FedRAMP, security compliance)
  • Exposure to capture management methodologies or Shipley processes
  • Training or certification in technical writing, proposal management (APMP), or business writing
  • Technical certifications (CompTIA, AWS, Azure, etc.) or pursuit of professional certifications (PMP)
