Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Senior Accountant to join our accounting team. The Senior Accountant will oversee the daily and monthly accounting operations for a multi-location restaurant group. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hospitality accounting, with experience managing accounts receivable processes, leading a team, performing reconciliations, overseeing month-end closings, and conducting audits. Proficiency in Restaurant365 (R365) and Toast POS is essential, with advanced hands-on knowledge of both systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Director of Finance to manage general ledger including journal entries, reconciliations, transactions, etc.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Prepare and review sales tax workpapers, verify taxable sales by location.
- Assist with daily cash management activities, Cash Flow Reporting includes reviewing Positive Pay exceptions for accuracy and performing or initiating authorized bank transfers to ensure proper fund allocation and fraud prevention.
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjusting entries as needed.
- Manage month-end and quarter-end closing, including revenue reconciliation, and expense allocations.
- Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions to ensure timely and accurate processing in R365.
- Review vendor invoices, ensure proper approvals; follow up with General Managers (GMs) for approval during month-end closing.
- Ensure that the EDI connection is working properly and that no invoices are missing; if issues arise, follow up with the Purchasing Department and/or vendor for resolution.
- Prepare and review financial statements, balance sheets, and income statements for accuracy and completeness.
- Provide supporting schedules and documentation for audits and management review.
- Collaborate closely with operations, finance, and general managers to resolve discrepancies and improve data flow.
- Ad-Hoc Reporting as requested by upper management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- At lease 4-7 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in hospitality or multi-unit operations
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, experience in Restaurant 365,Toast, Stripe
- Strong understanding of GAAP and restaurant accounting practices.
- Ability to communicate effectively (verbal & written) with internal/external team members and vendors
- Data-driven, fact-based, detail-oriented approach to analysis and problem solving. Attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing deadlines.
- Strong management skills and ability to work independently within a team environment
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90, $95,000.00 per year
