ResponsibilitiesThe primary role for this position contributes to the clinical, educational, and/or research mission of the Division of Pediatric Nephrology and Hypertension. Involvement in outpatient, inpatient and renal replacement services. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in The Methodist Mission, Vision and Values.
- Primary supervisory responsibilities include training and supervision of residents and fellows in the context of nephrology and related areas, including for the Leadership Education in Pediatric Nephrology Programs. The Department supports efforts in curriculum and program development in the variety of settings.
- Clinical Care (45-85% effort): Providing direct clinical and clinical administrative Nephrology services.
- Education and Training (Variable % effort): Responsibilities include training students and professional trainees (both in Pediatrics and in other professions in an interdisciplinary graduate level training program), and supervision of students/trainees in the context of Pediatric Nephrology programs. ,
- Service (Variable % effort): The Department is supportive of community leadership and advocacy roles.
- Research and Academics (Variable% effort): The Department is supportive of contributions to scholarly activity, including research. Should research effort be pursued, successful acquisition of funding would allow increased time and protected effort for research and related academic activities as appropriate for the position. Other academic obligations include participation in department and division teaching conferences and serving on hospital and university committees as directed by the Chair of Pediatrics or Division Chief of Developmental Pediatrics.
- Requires an MBBS, MD or DO or equivalent degree.
- The applicant should be licensed or license-eligible in Tennessee as a Physician, Health Service Provider and will be expected to be board-certified by the American Board of Pediatrics within 3 years
