Responsibilities

  • Serves as a project engineer supporting capital projects at gas turbine plants.
  • Manages approved capital projects from scope review to execution.
  • Coordinates with reliability engineers and vendors to update quotes and specifications.
  • Plans and executes projects during plant outages or while online, ensuring resource availability.
  • Liaises with contractors and internal teams for alignment on installation and commissioning.
  • Maintains safety compliance and coordinates site access/orientation.
  • Responsible for the design, modeling, development, and testing of a machine, structure, or system.
  • Develops functional requirements and applies standard engineering principles.
  • Creates simulations and prototypes to evaluate designs and test operation.
  • Designs, tests components, and integrates them into the final product.
  • Monitors quality, controls process efficiency, and evaluates a design's effectiveness, cost, reliability, and safety.

Skills

  • strong organizational skills (managing budgets, schedules, change orders, team members).
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with plant operations, site management, and craft labor.
  • Microsoft Office Suite and SAP.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD or Bluebeam is a plus.

Education And Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (ABET-accredited preferred).
  • 5+ years preferred, but candidates with less experience and strong aptitude considered; utility, manufacturing, or heavy industry experience preferred (gas turbine experience is a plus).
