SUMMARY OF THE JOB:

The Commercial Real Estate (CRE) Manager will drive Liberty Bank's CRE business growth in the Boston market by providing strategic leadership, coaching, and operational oversight. This role is responsible for leading a team of relationship managers, developing market strategies, structuring complex loan transactions, and ensuring profitability through cross-sell opportunities. The Manager will also recruit, retain, and develop top talent while upholding Liberty Bank's values and compliance standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Sales Leadership & Market Development

  • Lead CRE sales efforts in the Boston market, setting clear goals and performance standards.
  • Conduct market assessments to identify growth opportunities and competitive positioning.
  • Develop and execute annual business plans aligned with Liberty Bank's strategic objectives.

Coaching & Talent Development

  • Mentor and coach team members to enhance sales effectiveness and customer relationship skills.
  • Implement performance management practices, including regular feedback and career development plans.

Loan Structuring & Profitability

  • Oversee structuring of complex CRE loans, ensuring compliance with credit policy and risk management standards.
  • Monitor portfolio performance and profitability, taking proactive measures to optimize returns.

Cross-Sell & Relationship Management

  • Drive collaboration across business lines to maximize cross-sell opportunities (Treasury Management, Wealth, Insurance).
  • Foster strong client relationships to deepen engagement and loyalty.

Recruitment & Retention

  • Attract and retain high-performing CRE professionals.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive team culture consistent with Liberty Bank's values.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business or relevant field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 8+ years of commercial real estate lending experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record in sales leadership, market development, and team management.
  • Strong knowledge of CRE loan structuring, credit analysis, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
