Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Prep Cook to join our supermarket kitchen team. The ideal candidate has a passion for food preparation, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic. This position requires teamwork, reliability, and strict adherence to all food safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Wash, peel, chop, slice, and portion ingredients according to recipes and production needs.
  • Prepare ground meats, meat mixes, and semi-finished products according to company standards.
  • Assist Line Cooks and Chefs with daily food preparation tasks.
  • Ensure all food items are properly labeled, dated, and stored following safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Keep prep areas, cutting boards, and equipment clean and organized at all times.
  • Assist in assembling salads, sandwiches, and other deli items as needed.
  • Refill and restock supplies to maintain continuous kitchen workflow.
  • Dispose of waste properly and follow recycling and cleaning procedures.
  • Follow all food safety, hygiene, and health department regulations.

Requirements

  • Previous food preparation or kitchen experience preferred (supermarket, deli, or restaurant).
  • Basic knife skills and familiarity with kitchen equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Dependable, punctual, and willing to learn.
  • Flexibility to work mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • 18 years or older.
  • Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs.
