About the Position

The Foreman 2 works out of Stansell Electric's Nashville office, assisting in all aspects of supervise and coordinate assigned crew(s) and subordinate supervision in all aspects of installation, alteration, demolition, maintenance and/or repair of electrical systems, conductors, assemblies, and associated materials and equipment on all type of projects within the electrical construction industry. The Foreman 2 must show the mechanical aptitude, mathematical skills, and literacy skills commensurate to the satisfactory completion of position's primary duties and responsibilities. Advancement opportunities are available by advancing to more senior positions or through transfer to skilled trades.

How You'll Make a Difference

  1. Supervise projects valued at $250,000.00 to $1,000,000.00.

  2. Meet or exceed project schedules, productivity standards, and monetary budgets.

  3. Has strong expertise in all aspects of trade related materials, components, equipment, systems, methods of installations, safety procedures, safe work practices, trade related calculations, blueprint and drawing interpretation, and trouble shooting.

  4. Operates any hand tools, power tools, and equipment necessary to perform all trade associated

  5. Effectively communicates and interfaces with peers, crew, project supervision, and General Contractor.

  6. Coordinates work and activities with the Project Manager, General Contractor, customer, and other trades.

  7. Forecasts and orders manpower, material, tool, and equipment needs well in advance to assure that the proper tools/equipment, materials, information, manpower, and other requirements are on the project when needed.

  8. Proceeds with work via written and verbal instructions, plans, drawings, or specifications.

  9. Directly responsible for the supervision and management of all employees and supervision under his/her jurisdiction.

  10. Lays out and schedules work for subordinate supervision, lead persons, and crew as needed.

  11. Correctly fulfills, in a timely manner, administrative requirements and documentation such as time sheets, labor coding, daily logs, material and tool requisitions, man loading schedules, reports (i.e. incident/injury, employee notifications, etc.).

  12. Monitors labor productivity, Quality Control, and directs subordinate supervision and crews in such a manner so as to meet project schedules and production quotas.

  13. Coordinate and manages equipment rentals.

  14. Identifies, schedules, and facilitates all needed inspections.

  15. Prepares detail drawings for job as needed.

  16. Instructs assigned employees in the correct operation of tools and equipment, safe work practices, electrical principles, and applicable NEC.

  17. Evaluate employees under his/her supervision.

  18. Performs disciplinary actions, procedures, and documentation.

  19. Troubleshoot and resolve problems in electrical circuits, systems, and equipment.

  20. Perform EEW procedures up to 480 volts.

  21. Perform metering and testing up to 480 volts.

  22. Utilize NEC codebook as needed.

  23. Comprehends, abides by, and enforces Stansell Electric customer policies, procedures, and safety guidelines. Documents and reports all violations.

  24. Attend all Foreman Meetings.

  25. May be called upon to perform the duties of JW1 through FR1.

  26. Works with tools alongside crew when required or as directed.

  27. Perform other project related duties and assignments as instructed by supervision

Smarts, Skills. And Physical Requirements

  1. Wearing personal tool belt at all times on the job. The waist tool belt as worn weighs approximately 30 pounds with tool pouch, tools, and nail bags.

  2. Lifting 51 pounds, unassisted, 20 times per day.

  3. Constantly moving about on the feet.

  4. Completing a full day's assignments involving one or more of the following; bending, stooping, squatting, crawling, climbing, kneeling, balancing, pushing, pulling, reaching over head, and repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers.

  5. Digging trenches and excavations, either by use of hand tools or power equipment.

  6. Operating two handed tools/equipment such as cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools, and jack hammers.

  7. Operating aerial personnel lifts.

  8. Transitioning from employee parking area or street into construction work areas and to access all levels of the building, even if the only means of access is by O.S.H.A. approved site construction ladder or stairs still under construction, but acceptable for use.

  9. Wearing all personal protective equipment at all times as required by the specific task; eye and face protection, steel toe leather work boots, hand protection, head protection, respirator, arc flash protection

  10. Climbing and working from all types of ladders; step ladders up to 14', "A" frame ladders, and all size extension ladders. Capable of carrying and relocating up to a 12' step ladder by one's self.

  11. Operating company vehicles with manual or automatic transmission.

  12. Utilizing construction site sanitary facilities (Porta-Johns).

  13. Working a 40 hour work week, with overtime and off-hour shifts as required.

  14. Personal weight including tool pouch, tools, nail bags, and tool belt must not exceed 300 lbs, weight limit of a class 1A ladder.

  15. Possession of good hearing, normal or corrected.

  16. Possession of good vision, normal or corrected.

  17. Positive identification of wiring colors.

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED

Experience

5+ Years Journeyman Electrician Experience
