Position Overview
This position requires active SECRET security clearance and is on-site.
Agile Care Enterprises is looking for an Information System Security Engineer (ISSE), Levels III to support the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Philadelphia Division. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the security of our IT infrastructure and protecting sensitive information from cyber threats. You will work closely with various teams to implement security measures, monitor systems for vulnerabilities, and respond to incidents. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cybersecurity, network engineering, and information security best practices.
Key Responsibilities & Skills
- Design and Implementation: Design, implement, and upgrade security measures for computer networks and information systems.
- Risk Management: Conduct risk assessments, identify vulnerabilities, and develop and implement strategies to mitigate them.
- Incident Response: Lead and manage security incident responses, including preparation, detection, analysis, containment, and recovery.
- Security Monitoring: Monitor and defend information systems against unauthorized access, modification, or destruction using advanced threat detection tools.
- Policy and Compliance: Develop security policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Collaboration: Partner with business units and other stakeholders to advise them on security matters and enhance overall security posture.
- Project Leadership: Lead complex security-related projects from inception to completion.
Additional Responsibilities
- Develop and implement security policies and procedures in compliance with NIST standards and ISO 27000.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify potential security risks.
- Monitor network traffic using SIEM tools to detect and respond to threats in real-time.
- Manage firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS) to protect network integrity.
- Implement identity and access management solutions, ensuring secure authentication processes.
- Collaborate with IT teams on system hardening and incident recovery strategies.
- Maintain documentation of system security plans, incident response protocols, and compliance requirements.
- Perform log analysis using tools like Splunk to investigate security incidents and ensure compliance with PCI, FISMA, and FedRAMP standards.
- Stay updated on emerging cybersecurity threats and trends to proactively enhance the organization's security posture.
NOTE: The work shall be performed on-site.
Education & Training
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or equivalent STEM degree from an accredited college or university
Seven (7) years professional experience capturing and refining information security operational and security requirements and ensuring those requirements are properly addressed through purposeful development, and configuration, and implementing security controls, configuration changes, software/hardware updates/patches, vulnerability scanning, and securing configurations.
Must have Active Secret Level Security Clearance
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- CompTIA Security+ CE, CASP+CE, CySA+, CCNP Security, GSEC, GICSP, CCNA, CISA, CISSP, GCED, CCSP, GCIH, SSCP, CND
- DoD 8570 is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF) and computer networking concepts (LAN/WAN).
- Experience with Cisco ASA, Cisco ISE, firewall management, and VPN technologies.
- Proficiency in operating systems including Windows, Linux (Debian, CentOS, Ubuntu), macOS, and UNIX.
- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Knowledge of encryption methods and secure coding practices (Java, Python).
- Experience with system administration tasks including Active Directory management and virtualization technologies (VMware).
- Understanding of Agile methodologies and DevOps practices for software deployment.
- Excellent analytical skills for threat detection & response as well as incident management. - Leadership: Experience leading security initiatives and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of network cybersecurity architecture concepts including topology, protocols, components, and principles (e.g., application of defense-in-depth).
- Knowledge of network systems management principles, models, methods (e.g., end-to-end systems performance monitoring), and tools.
- Knowledge of new and emerging information technology (IT) and cybersecurity technologies.
- Knowledge of vulnerability information dissemination sources (e.g., alerts, advisories, errata, and bulletins).
