Objective/Purpose

The Maintenance Worker supports the maintenance department in performing routine maintenance, equipment cleaning, and basic repairs throughout the facility. Working closely with senior maintenance staff, this role assists in keeping production machinery, tools, and forklifts in safe and reliable operating condition. The Maintenance Helper plays an important role in ensuring smooth daily operations and preventing unplanned downtime.

Principal Roles and Responsibilities

  • Assist with basic maintenance and repair tasks on production machinery and support equipment
  • Help perform preventive maintenance such as lubrication, filter changes, and cleaning machine components
  • Support forklift and material-handling equipment upkeep under supervision
  • Clean and organize maintenance tools, equipment, and work areas
  • Help monitor and maintain shop supplies, parts, and fluids (oils, grease, coolant, etc.)
  • Assist in moving equipment, parts, or materials as needed
  • Follow all safety procedures, including Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) and proper use of PPE
  • Report any equipment irregularities or safety concerns promptly
  • Perform other support tasks as directed by maintenance or production leadership

Abilities and Qualifications

Required

  • Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn industrial maintenance tasks
  • Ability to safely use hand tools and power tools under supervision
  • Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand/walk for extended periods, and work in a manufacturing environment
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to follow instructions carefully
  • Willing to work overtime or weekends as needed

Preferred

  • Previous experience in industrial, facilities, or mechanical maintenance
  • Forklift experience or certification
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic systems
