Embedded Software Lead

BTQ is developing the most powerful and efficient post-quantum secure hardware on the market. By leveraging processing-in-memory technology, we can achieve 10x the performance-per-watt and per-area of conventional architectures. We're looking for a talented embedded systems lead to own our embedded software effort.

In this role, you would lead the team developing the low-level system software that interfaces with our PIM accelerator hardware, including tooling for producing accelerator machine code and embedded software for validating, loading, and invoking that code. You will be responsible for the security and performance of all embedded software interfacing with our PIM accelerator.

If you're a good fit for this role, you should ideally be able to develop complex and secure software applications that leverage and support novel accelerator architectures. You will have leadership experience, and you should be able to work closely with developers working on the architecture to understand their needs, solve problems and add new capabilities.

You will also ideally have experience developing secure firmware, and have experience with key security protocols like secure boot, code signing, secure OTA updates, and more.

Minimum qualifications:

  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience leading technical projects.
  • Experience with embedded systems development.
  • Experience with operating systems development.
  • Background in C++ and Python.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Understanding of computer architecture, microarchitecture, and instruction sets.
  • Experience managing engineering teams.
  • Experience with cryptography.
  • Experience developing secure embedded systems.
  • Experience working on compilers or assemblers.

This role is hybrid, and can be based in our New York City office or our Portland, Oregon office.
