Job Summary:
The
Director of Operations
for our
client
is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of nightly janitorial operations across multiple client sites. This role ensures that all cleaning teams deliver exceptional service, comply with client expectations, and adhere to company standards. This includes direct supervision of 4–6 Operations Area Managers and indirect oversight of over 300 cleaning personnel including General Cleaners, Floaters, and Mobile Crews.
The ideal candidate will be a proactive, detail-oriented leader with strong interpersonal and organizational skills, fluent in both English and Spanish, and experienced in large-scale janitorial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage nightly janitorial operations and staffing across multiple facilities
- Supervise and mentor Operations Area Managers
- Provide support, coaching, and corrective action to front-line supervisors and cleaning staff
- Conduct nightly audits to ensure quality standards and address any service deficiencies
- Coordinate with HR on hiring, terminations, and disciplinary processes
- Attend account walk-throughs, new start-ups, and planning meetings
- Communicate work orders and task updates between office and site teams
- Drive between client sites to monitor performance and complete service inspections
- Serve as back-up for Area Managers as needed
- Support teams with hands-on training in cleaning procedures and proper equipment use
Key Duties May Include:
- Vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, dusting
- Sanitizing restrooms and break areas
- Trash removal and liner replacement
- Restocking consumables
- Inventory reporting and supply management
- Maintaining janitorial equipment and supply closets
- Enforcing safety standards and PPE compliance
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 12–18 months experience in commercial janitorial operations
- At least 2 years of team management experience (5+ direct reports)
- Bilingual in
English and Spanish
(Nice to have) - Strong leadership, communication, and time-management skills
- Proficient in using smartphones for communication and task management
- Ability to work independently and lead by example
- Valid Driver's License with clean driving record
- Must pass a background check
