Financial Accounting Manager

The position is responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of Broadway Construction Group and providing strategic financial guidance to support the growth and success of the business. This position works directly with the President & the COO. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Financial Management
- Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and construction draw requisitions.
- Responsible for all accounting functions including AR, AP, GL, job costing, cash management and tax filings.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Owns the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes including detailed analysis and reconciliation of general ledger accounts
- Work with senior executives and project teams to develop job cost budgets for new projects.
Revenue and Cost Control
- Monitor and collaborate with the Project Management teams to track and report on project costs.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings to ensure that projects remain within the allocated budget and costs are appropriately distributed.
- Oversee payments, billing and collections inquires involving clients, contractors, and suppliers.
- Oversee the processing of wires, checks, monthly draw submissions to owners and/or lenders.
Strategic Planning
- Collaborate with President and COO to develop and implement financial strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives.
- Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making, including variance analysis, cash flow forecasting, and profitability analysis.
Compliance & Audit
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations and reporting requirements.
- Coordinate internal and external reviews/audits, ensuring compliance with review/audit requirements and addressing any findings or recommendations.
- Maintain the integrity of the accounting software, evaluate opportunities for efficiencies along with system upgrades.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification is plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of New York City construction accounting experience.
- Working knowledge and usage of accounting software, specifically Sage and Yardi
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, and a strong attention to detail.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
