Kidney Transplant Clinical Manager – Job Summary
The Transplant Clinical Manager provides leadership and direction for a multidisciplinary team delivering safe, efficient, and patient-centered care across the transplant continuum—including pre-transplant, post-transplant, and living donor services. This role ensures clinical excellence through oversight of staffing, workflow optimization, regulatory compliance, and coordination of complex patient evaluations, procedures, and follow-up care.
The manager fosters a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team culture that supports staff development, quality improvement initiatives, and clear communication among patients, families, providers, and stakeholders. This position also plays a key role in strategic planning, data-driven performance monitoring, and operational management to enhance patient outcomes, maintain compliance with United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) regulations, and support the overall growth and integrity of the transplant program.
Through strong clinical leadership, mentoring, and active participation in institutional committees and meetings, the Transplant Clinical Manager ensures the delivery of evidence-based, ethical, and compassionate care.
Communication and Relationship Building: - 25%

- Utilizes and interprets evidence-based data for the establishment of standards, practices, and patient care models for delivery of care.
- Participates in systems review to improve quality of patient care delivery and to critically evaluate and anticipate risks to patient safety with the aim of preventing patient care errors.
- Identifies and participates in performance improvement processes that provide outcome measurement.
- Communicates, educates and involves staff in quality improvement processes.
- Actively participates in patient satisfaction strategies and service recovery.
- Ensures that clinical policies and procedures are reviewed and updated in accordance with evidence-based practice.

- Articulates and takes action to support the JCAHO National Patient Safety Goals.
- Demonstrates knowledge of internal and external disaster plans and fire drills.
- Incorporates safety into clinical processes, policies and procedures.

- Actively recruits and initiates strategies for staff retention.
- Utilizes corrective action appropriately to mitigate work behavior issues.
- Coaches staff in development of career plans.
- Provides visionary thinking and provides input in the staffing issues impacting the patient flow.
- Delegates tasks appropriately to health care personnel.
- Creates an environment that recognizes and values differences in staff, physicians, patients and communities.
- Ensures decision-making authority of staff is acknowledged and incorporated into patient care delivery

Minimum required: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing | Preferred: Master's Degree in Nursing | Minimum required: 3-5 years of equivalent experience | Preferred: 6-10 years of equivalent experience | Required: Ohio RN License, BLS
