Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Kennel Manager to oversee the daily operations of our kennel facility. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and possess strong leadership skills to manage staff and ensure the well-being of all animals in our care. This role requires a hands-on approach to animal handling, customer service, and maintaining a safe and clean environment for both pets and staff.

Duties

  • Supervise daily kennel operations, including staff management and scheduling.
  • Ensure the health and safety of all animals through proper care, feeding, and exercise routines.
  • Implement training programs for staff on animal handling, restraint, and care techniques.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization within the kennel facility.
  • Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners regarding their pets' needs and well-being.
  • Monitor animal behavior and health, reporting any concerns to veterinary professionals as needed.
  • Assist with pet grooming, training, and other specialized care as required.
  • Manage inventory of supplies related to pet care and kennel operations.

Experience

  • Previous experience in a kennel management role or similar position is preferred.
  • Strong background in dog training, veterinary assistance, or animal handling is highly desirable.
  • Experience with pet grooming, pet sitting, or veterinary technician responsibilities is a plus.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and staff.
