Remote, Oregon, United States Crux Full time
We're supercharging the clean economy

Crux is the capital markets platform changing the way clean energy and manufacturing projects are financed in the US. Crux's platform, market intelligence, and expert team help developers and manufacturers unlock financing through all stages of project development and operation.

Our team of 60+ is composed of experts in energy, tax, finance, government, and technology. We have raised $77 million in capital from some of the best investors, including Andreessen Horowitz, Lowercarbon Capital, New System Ventures, Overture, Ardent Venture Partners, QED, Canapi, and others. These funds are joined by strategic investors including Pattern Energy, Clearway Energy, EDF Renewables, Intersect Power, LS Power, Orsted, Hartree Partners, Liberty Mutual Strategic Ventures, MassMutual Ventures, and OMERS Ventures.

An inflection point in American energy and manufacturing

Energy demand is growing for the first time in 20 years, driven by surging manufacturing, transportation, electrification, and data centers. Simultaneously, hundreds of billions of dollars are being invested in domestic supply chains for critical minerals and components. Developers and manufacturers will require trillions of dollars in capital to meet growing needs.

Without Crux, capital markets supporting this transformation remain opaque, fragmented, and complex. At Crux, we recognized the missing infrastructure: a central capital markets platform designed specifically for the next century of American energy and industry. By connecting counterparties, providing market intelligence, and streamlining transactions, we unlock faster decision-making, lower cost of capital, and accelerated investment.

The Opportunity

Crux is hiring a Senior Credit Analyst to join our industry-leading Market Intelligence team. This role is designed for an experienced professional with deep expertise in project finance, credit markets, or energy infrastructure investment. The ideal candidate brings 7–9 years of experience in credit underwriting, financial structuring, or aggregate risk analysis —ideally across energy and infrastructure markets.

The Senior Analyst will lead analytical efforts to evaluate credit worthiness, financing structures, and market dynamics across Crux's database of energy projects and capital market transactions. This position combines quantitative financial analysis with strategic market insight, supporting Crux's research, analytics products, and investor-facing deliverables. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping how Crux interprets emerging financing trends and communicates those insights to clients, investors, and partners.

What you'll do
  • Data & Database Management: design, manage, and oversee Crux's database of energy projects, capital markets transactions, and financing structures.

  • Credit & Financial Analysis: Strategize at a high level around trends driving project-level financing, including credit profiles, debt structures, and tax credit transactions.

  • Market Intelligence: Track trends in energy project finance, capital markets, and credit activity to inform Crux's internal strategy and external reporting.

  • Analytical Support: Deliver rigorous quantitative and qualitative analysis to support customers, partners, and internal stakeholders.

  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Work with product, research, and customer success teams to ensure data integrity and analytic rigor across outputs.

What you bring
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, engineering, or a related field; MBA preferred.

  • 7–9 years of relevant professional experience in credit analysis, project finance, infrastructure investing, energy banking, or structured finance.

  • Demonstrated expertise in evaluating project or corporate credit risk, including proficiency in cash flow modeling, capital structure assessment, and covenant analysis.

  • Strong understanding of energy markets, project finance structures, and policy-driven investment frameworks(e.g., tax equity, debt, and credit enhancements).

  • Proven ability to develop and maintain complex financial models; proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets, with experience in SQL, Tableau, or other business intelligence tools strongly preferred.

  • Exceptional attention to analytical rigor and data accuracy, with a track record of managing large datasets and synthesizing insights for senior audiences.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated experience preparing credit memos, investor briefings, or market analyses.

  • Highly self-directed, with strong organizational and project management skills; capable of operating independently in a fast-paced, data-driven environment while collaborating across functions.

  • Deep intellectual curiosity about capital markets, risk, and the energy transition, with the ability to translate complex financial and technical detail into actionable insight.

What we bring
  • Backing, traction & brand:

    • We have raised $77 million in capital from some of the best venture and strategic investors, including Andreessen Horowitz, Lowercarbon Capital, New System Ventures, Ardent Venture Partners, Pattern, Clearway, EDFR, Intersect, LS Power, Orsted, Hartree Partners, Liberty Mutual Strategic Ventures, MassMutual Ventures, and OMERS Ventures.

  • Compensation:

    • Base Compensation: $175,000 - $200,000, not inclusive of equity value.

    • Stock options in a rapidly growing company.

      • Care for each other: We want to work on a team where people support each other - in their growth, in their work, and towards our shared mission. When we do that, we have fun.

      • Build and improve rapidly: We move quickly. To do that, we focus, consistently ask ourselves if we are prioritizing the right things, and execute them as best as possible.

      • Focus unremittingly on customers: Our first obligation is to our customers and partners, and we keep their needs front and center in everything we do.

      • Demonstrate ownership: We are all owners of Crux. This is our team, our company, our product and we show that to each other.

      • Convene a team that reflects the breadth of experiences in the country: We're building a team with a wide range of backgrounds and a culture where everyone can thrive.
